Our range of Karkar Hair Oil Infusions, Karkar Hair Creams and Karkar Hair Butters are all formulated to fortify your natural hair and natural hair oils (sebum).
Sebum is our body’s natural way of keeping our hair and scalp nourished, moisturized and healthy. Ideally, sebum produced in your scalp should travel all the way down your hair, coating it from root to tip and enriching it as it travels down.
This is a challenge for curly, kinky and coily hair as all the bends make it difficult for the sebum to travel all the way down the hair shaft. It is because of this that curly, coily and kinky hair are more prone to dryness and is why one of the greatest challenges is to keep it well hydrated and moisturised to prevent brittleness and split ends.
To bridge this gap we have produced a powerful array of natural hair products that mimic your natural scalp oils and help to fortify each hair strand from root to tip.

Why Tallow?
Tallow is a nutrient-rich, rendered form of animal fat that has been used for centuries in traditional beauty remedies. Because its fatty acid profile is very similar to human sebum, it’s highly compatible with skin and hair. The word sebum is actually the Latin word for tallow. Tallow is especially beneficial for dry, thick, and coarse hair, making it well-suited for the unique needs of curly, coily and kinky hair. Similar to scalp sebum, tallow helps restore hair moisture, promoting softness, reducing brittleness and enhancing curl definition.
Tallow is rich in vitamins that fortify the hair’s inner layers by boosting keratin and collagen production reducing split ends and brittleness while enhancing hair elasticity and overall resilience. Tallow also helps smooth the outer cuticle layer, taming frizz, making coily and kinky hair more manageable while adding definition, especially in humid weather. It also helps support hair follicle health to prevent hair thinning and loss.
